Your first day with Cyvex

What to configure in your first hour so Cyvex starts surfacing real findings by end of day one.

Updated · onboarding · setup

Cyvex moves faster than most security tools because it assumes you want value the same day you sign up. Three things get you most of the way there: invite your team, connect a first asset, and decide where alerts should go. This guide links to each step so you can work through them in order or cherry-pick what matters most for your org.

The sequence

  1. Invite your team and assign roles so work stops living in one person's head.
  2. Connect your first asset — an external domain, a cloud account, or a code repo — so scans have something to look at.
  3. Configure alerting so findings reach the right inbox or Slack channel as they land.

What to expect in the first 24 hours

External scans are usually fastest: expect a first pass within an hour of connecting a domain. Cloud posture evaluation typically completes within a few hours depending on the account size. Authenticated scans (internal hosts, authenticated web apps) take longest to configure because they require credentials and network access.

Don't be alarmed by the initial finding count. A new environment will often show dozens of medium and low findings; the scan report guide covers how to triage quickly without drowning.
